Employment Dr. Xin Li is currently a professor at Cold and Arid Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute (CAREERI), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Director of Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Geospatial Science at CAREERI/CAS. His primary research interests include land data assimilation, application of remote sensing and GIS in hydrology and cryosphere science, and integrated watershed modeling. Professional Association He has been a recipient of the Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Prize of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005, NSFC China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists in 2009, first class Science and Technology Progress Prize of Gansu Province, and the Seventh National Award for Young Geographers in 2003. He is in the editorial boards of some international and Chinese journals. He is currently also the director of the World Data Center for Glaciology and Geocryology at Lanzhou, a member of WCRP GEWEX SSG, vice president of the Chinese committee of WCRP GEWEX, the chair of the working group on remote sensing and data of Chinese Committee for WCRP/CliC and IUGG/IACS, co-chair of the Chinese Committee for WCRP/GEWEX, co-chair of the working group on theory and method of China Association for Geographic Information System. He was also a member of IPY (International Polar Year) Data Committee and the secretary general of the G-WADI Asian (Water and Development Information for arid lands - A Global Network) established by UNESCO IHP. |
